Self-paced online courses differ in price, format and, most importantly, in whether your university accepts them. Ask these questions before you enroll.
Will my university accept it?
This matters more than anything else. Check your university's transfer policy or ask an advisor which providers and courses they accept, and for which requirements.
How is it priced?
Some providers charge a monthly subscription, others per course, and some offer free courses with a fee for a credit-bearing exam. A subscription is good value if you can complete several courses quickly; per-course pricing suits a slower pace.
How is it assessed?
Look at how the course is graded: quizzes, projects, a final exam, and whether exams are proctored. Choose a format that suits how you learn.
How much time do I have?
Be realistic about your weekly hours. A plan with steady progress beats an ambitious one you cannot keep.
